just curious, do any of your therapists wear perfume? if so, do you like it or does it bother you?

I have had this exact same experience. My T hugs me at the end of every session, so it's happened a few times. One time I left triggered and upset, so the smell of her perfume drove me crazy. I wanted to forget about the session and the fact that I kept smelling it kept me from being able to do that! Most of the time it's comforting though. After one difficult session where I disclosed something huge, it was a reminder all day that I was safe now and not alone. I almost didn't wash my shirt after

because it was so grounding. Instead, I admitted to her how helpful it was and instead of thinking it was weird, she offered to hug my blanket for me so it would smell like her perfume.
