A vasectomy is an outpatient procedure. It involves cutting the tubes that bring sperm out of the scrotum. It is much easier and less painful than tubal ligation, as well as being twice as reliable. Ripping guts out is a bit of an overstatement even for tubal ligation. Most men who get a vasectomy can do it over a long weekend without missing work.

Sperm only accounts for about 1% of semen. The testicles really don't contribute much to the texture, taste, or appearance of semen. That's why these are unaltered when a vasectomy is performed.

And I only meant to suggest suggesting it in a way that makes condoms appear to be a lesser inconvenience.
