Kansas - I've also wondered if suppression of thoughts/feelings during the day can lead to the mind sifting through them at night like you say. Like you, by day's end (by mid-morning actually) I am usually fine.
I still wonder if having a meditation or journaling time at night would help, esp. if I focused on the things that are rattling around in my head and letting them go. I am going to try it for a week and see how it goes. Thanks for the response.
