It can be an indicator, but not proof of, ie your depressdion could be getting worse.
It's a small chore to floss and brush daily. If you live to be 40+ or even 30+, brushing daily now will likely save you a lot of pain and/or expense later. Taking care of your body is a useful habit. Trust me, you don't want dentures. Not caring for this leads to pain, cost, and dentures and more pain. Being wise is so much nicer. I realize you don't care right now, but at some point logic and practical matters become relevant.
