I had terrible racing thoughts throughout my teens, 20's and 30's. In college I could not take it and it felt like 24/7. I couldn't hold a conversation. Even in bed my mind would just race and go over things that happened during the day and take me few hrs to get to sleep.
I don't know how to get rid of them except reduce your outside stress as much as possible.
I would tell some Docs that I had racing thoughts and they barely believed me I think. (I knew of two Doctors I saw that disagreed on racing thoughts. One Doc said they're episodic and my Doc disagreed with him.)
Get a good Doc that listens and understands so he can help you.
