I think it's a symptom of depression too. I can also relate to that. I used to have a job that required me to have extremely good hygiene. Now that I am a student and it is easy to get away with not looking done up or even bathe at all, I can honestly say I bathe like once a week--I brush my teeth on and off here and there. I used to love bathing, putting on makeup. But I also feel there is no point. I'm not going to meet anyone new, I'm not going to run into anyone I used to know, and if I did I wouldn't want to see them anyways.
The problem is that I think I've developed skin problems and scalp problems because of bad hygiene...I am pretty sure I have seborrheic dermatitis and now no matter how much I wash my hair now, it smells so nasty after a few hours--So now I am paying the price for my negligence I guess. It's gotten better after using medicated shampoos but yeah my point is to try and not let it get the hygiene get so bad to the point where you can actually smell yourself smelling bad lol.
Sorry if this is TMI.
