Somewhere, probably near by, is another person who is experiencing many of the same emotions as you. Please consider becoming involved in whatever organizations there are on your campus that are service oriented, and/or who welcome newcomers to your school. Some programs of study are extremely competitive and may draw people who are naturally competitive. You can mitigate that somewhat by, when possible, taking electives that seem more fun-oriented to you. A natural for your situation might be to take a class that involves physical activity. A friend of mine who was in an extremely stressful program always made a point of taking phys. ed. classes; he said he had fun, he got some exercise, and it was a complete break from his Mathematics and Computer Science majors.
