Our store is constantly getting shipments for operational supplies, new equipment etc. Some things we order some things are just sent because new products require different display's etc. Our owner owns several stores and makes a huge purchase every quarter for all stores.

I took two weeks of vacation while my son came home to be married. When I returned to work there were a variety of things that needed my attention (my GM was also off during this time.)

Another issue was a shipment that I was told to "put away". The box was already open. I had no idea what the stuff was, so I stacked it neatly in my office in the corner on a table.

Today I decided I was going to get caught up on things. (On my day off I might add.) I spoke to the GM about the things I was unsure of. She didn't have any answers either. She did bring up the fact that she had a meeting with the owner to go over some neglected things in the store (which I forgot). So I called the owner (who had been complaining he was out of the loop) and we got these things settled. YAY!

Or so I thought. I called my GM all excited about the things that I'd learned. Turns out that she was angry that I went over her head. ??? Then I got a call from the Owner demanding to know where the equipment and supplies were. I told him exactly where the things were, he was angry insisting things were missing. I told him exactly what I found in the box, and where I put it. He was implying that I converted it for our store, etc, etc, etc.

It all became clear when one of my peers called and explained that the GM was angry because I discussed these "private" issues with the owner (private???) and he's pissed because I didn't bring up the other issues that are specific to him when I was on the phone with him. Why would I? The GM was going to do that. I had an immediate software issue that required his attention.

So I have a presentation to give in an hour and I have a pit in my stomach the size of Texas. Either one or both of them will be there. I am not looking forward to this.
