Yes, he asked me why I hadn't contacted him --it wasn't judgmental, but I actually felt really bad. We talked about when and how to contact --it was all good.

I don't remember changing meds when well, but in your case since you're seeing him after the episode (and since you had the episode in the first place) it really looks like you need a change.

Since you're on an SSRI (I think?) have you guys talked about removing that? I hate the Seroquel side effects, I often just plain hate it, but I have to say it's been very effective for preventing mania (and eventually bringing me back to earth from a manic episode). That said, if there were an alternative that was just as effective without the horrible side effects, it would be so so much better -but now that I'm on it, I'm afraid to go off of it; I've had a lot of trouble when lowering the dose. Moral of the story as far as I'm concerned, maybe better to increase or add a MS first and see if that will do it -which seems to be what you want to do.

I love Lamictal (funny, a lot of people here seem to), it's helped tremendously with depression, but just not with mania. Still, everyone's different and with the dose you're on you can still go up on it -maybe give that a try?

Good luck at your appointment! He'll likely be understanding about not contacting him and cancelling, it happens.
