I also talk to myself all of the time. I heard long ago that by using more than one sense you are more likely to retain things longer. Sometimes it is like I have two brains; one that is thinking four steps ahead, and the other reminding me not to overlook the little things on the task I am doing now. That is the dialog that comes out. People at work are used of it. But they've also learned not to talk to me when I'm focused like that. Throw in a another conversation and none of us know what is going to come out of my mouth.
Just yesterday I was reminding myself of things I had to do before an important presentation, while going through every step of the presentation and one of my children text me to ask for a tracking number for a package that we had sent. What I wanted to say was I'm at work now, the number is on my desk at home, call dad and get the information from him. But that was too much for my brain to handle. It was a six text conversation from me that was perfectly logical, gramatically correct, but had absoultely nothing to do with what we were talking about. When I saw them today I had no idea where it even came from.
