Is it just as simple as letting a cup of black tea (or fruit tea) go cold, then putting it in the refrigerator?

Any kind of tea can be made into iced tea. You brew it as usual, I like strong tea, so I brew it very strong. Once it finishes brewing you can chill it in the fridge or pour it over ice. Hence the name iced tea. A couple of companies here in the States have developed a cold brew tea. You use cold water to brew it so it's ready once it finishes brewing. Folks here in the Southern States drink way more iced tea then we do regular (hot) tea.
On one of our trips to Ireland Mom and I were jonseing for some iced tea. We'd ask for it in resturants only to be told they didn't serve it. One day we both chugged down our ice water and poured our cup of tea over the ice. We got some strange looks, but it satisfied us.
