I don't personally take meds for my ED. My psychiatrist at one time prescribed me Topirimate to deal with the symptoms but the side effects were too severe and I had to come off it within a few days. But I know others who have had success with that medication, or with Topomax (which is in the same family I think, if not the same drug).
I've also heard that in treating addictions and EDs, SSRIs can be effective, though I cannot take those either.
Have you talked to a doctor about any of this? Someone who understands eating disorders and your fear around gaining weight?
