But yes, I experience a numb face during a panic attack often. The first few times I was convinced I was having some absurd allergic reaction.

It could just be the extra stress and emotions being felt as well. Being anxious your emotions are heightened. Everyone is different. They are effected different ways, I use to get really bad anxiety attacks in my sleep but it was from my mind being so active while I slept. I would wake up and I would sound like walrus, like I was having a severe allergic reaction but it was because my mind was so active and would not shut off, I would wake up and be wheezing from it. It was really weird..
