From studies that have been done with schizoaffectives apparently it does get better over time...but meds help..It took me over 5yrs switching meds to find the right one its definately no fun...Abilify seems to be the best med out there as far as side effects and effectiveness...Good luck! Hope you find a med that works well soon!
