I had this problem for a long time.

One day when I was updating my Ad-Aware and I had to click "configure", that particular port showed up. I un-checked it and I have been able to access chat ever since.

I eventually discovered that this particular error doesn't have anything to do with Java.

I don't know if this would apply to you but thought I would mention it.
