Welcome to PC,
I knew I was always ADD (mild) that was one of my DXes back in 1999. All my life I struggled with school, from K-12.
When I was about 40, I started college part time, did well, even made honors 2 semesters in a row.
I know I can attribute that to being on Phenterimine for weight loss at that time, sort of proof, finally to my pdoc, that I was most likely ADD my whole life, back in our days, kids like me, would be considered not paying attention, daydreamers, other kids disruptive.
I've been taking Concerta, besides my mood stabilizer for Bipolar-II(mild) and I have seen much improvment.
The other stimulant/amphetamine I had used for weight loss was more effecient, but pdoc feels time release formulation like Concerta is safer, less likely of going up and then plummeting after, mood wise.
He feels that is why Concerta is a better choice for Bipolar patients to use.
It is sad that I had to struggle all my life academically, but I know I can't go back but only go forward at least finally on a better course.
I wish you lots of luck with your new journey.
As you hang around, you will meet many people that share this disorder, that bring support and info to the forums.
Again, welcome to PC.
