I use Irfanview too. It rocks for free! My profile pics come out exactly the same size here as I set them to be using Irfanview. I'm guessing you made a copy of your original and resized it and saved the result to upload here so I'm not sure what's going on there. Maybe there is a minimum built into the site software and it resizes what you upload?
