I have been seeing my T three times a week for a few years now. Going once a week I couldn't keep myself from shutting down completely in between sessions, so I was in this vicious cycle...I would go to T numb, we'd work the whole session to get me to feel anything, I would just start to work on things, time would be out, I would leave and numb out, and we'd do it all again. I wasn't getting anywhere. So I increased my sessions, which for me, keeps me working on stuff. I know three times a week is a lot, but therapy is finally helping. It's what I need. So I agree, you don't have to be in crisis to go more than once a week. If your T is okay with it and you can do it and it's helpful, I say go for it.
