Does anyone else experience difficulty with blood seeping through clothes? Yesterday, I was caught self-injuring by a nurse at my IP unit by the blood spots on my skirt, after my makeshift Elastoplast dressing failed to suppress the blood flow. The nurse put steristrips and a medical-grade plaster on it, but the blood still came through, and I've had to throw the skirt away after my attempts at getting the stains out with abrasive stain removers caused a hole to appear in the delicate cotton.

I'm terrified and feel guilty that I might have triggered others on the unit, walking around in bloodstained clothes. I don't know for how long the blood was on my skirt until the nurse saw it. Can anybody empathise?
