I would volunteer first, like wanting suggests; get out "there" in a less charged atmosphere and then see where that takes you. Whatever you'd do for a job, find someone who needs that in a volunteer.

Or, I'd do a little eBaying or sell some books online with Amazon, explore what's out there. I have a work friend who goes to flea markets every Saturday morning and I'm thinking of doing that, looking for things I could then sell online and/or setting up a table at my local flea market every now and then (once a month?) looking for stuff at other flea markets or yard sales inbetween. I have a storage facility (I just moved last year from a much larger house so haven't gotten everything crammed in her yet :-)

My community is having a community-wide yard sale in a couple weeks and I've always wished for "help" setting up and have heard there are people out there that do that; orchestrate yard/garage sales for people. When I had my yard sale before I moved, I had a personal organizer I'd hired and I hired her in particular because her brochure said she did yard sales and I knew I was going to need help with my huge house I'd been in for 20 years full of stuff :-)
