A few years ago I was taking 60mg Restoril and 3mg xanax (with some other bipolar meds) to help me sleep. I started waking in the middle of the night unable to speak, I could only moan. I also had difficulty walking. I was very frustrated but there was little I could do when this occurred. I would go back to sleep and in the morning I was normal.

My EEG and MRI were normal. So the aphasia seemed drug related. I stopped taking the Restoril and the 'episodes' stopped. I since have taken Restoril 30mg on a few occasions with no problem but I won't take 60mg again.
