Hi I was on Serzone (Nefazodone) several years ago and it did help with my depression though everyone is different and I was never on Nefazodone alone as my only antidepressant. I also took Prozac along with the Nefazodone and so it may be different taking it without an SSRI antidepressant also. I would discuss how you are feeling and your symptoms with your pdoc when you go to see him/her on the 31st to see if maybe you could take an SSRI or anSNRI along with the nefazodone to help with your depression. Also, make sure that your doctor who prescribes the nafazodone does lab or blood work to check your liver while taking this medication, I had to stop taking this medication because for some it can be harmful to your liver. I hope you begin to feel better soon and that your feelings of wanting to harm yourself lessen and your suicidal ideations are reduced or go away soon. take care.
