i am not familiar with us laws, but in the uk the law states employers have to make reasonable adjustments for employers, this includes things like five minute breaks every so often for diabetics so they can maintain their levels by injecting or eating or whatever they need to do. any employer who does not hold to this is seen as discriminating the employee and can be taken to court and in some instances firms have been made to pay millions in compensation.
try having a bag of nuts or something you can nibble whilst working, but please do not forgo necessary food for the sake of a job, if you do you will end up out of work because you will become too ill to work at all.
