I agree with George. Im glad it works for you. I know when I meditate I get to such a high state of sensitivity, combined with a high degree of tranquility, that the environment has to be 'perfect' for it to be most effective. If I want to be highly technical about it, I prefer a white painted room, natural sunlight, I make sure Im pointed east, with proper posture, firmly grounded and oriented, proper breathing, etc. Loud noises and distractions create interruptions so I try to minimize electronics, etc. Even the humming of the refrigerator can be distracting and I 'imagine' I feel the electrical currents flowing through my body. I believe its possible to become so adept at this though that no distraction would be powerful enough to break my concentration. I could do it in traffic, while walking, riding my bike, standing in line at the grocery store, etc. Its ironic, through concentration, I achieve relaxation. It takes practice. But thats me personally. Im glad it works for you.
