Hi Steve! I have a similar meditation I do to fall asleep at night. Have you ever seen a baby sleep? It's little tummy rises and falls slowly and peacefully, and can even make a stressed out mom relax. Well, I came up with a meditation I call "putting the baby to sleep". I focus on my stomach, bellybutton, and think of it as the baby I once was, and find myself relaxing and 90% of the time I fall asleep in minutes. If I have trouble focusing I lay my hand on my belly button. Sounds kind of funny, like what the old mystics called "navel gazing", but, it works for me as I said about 90% of the time. I think I am nurturing the child that wasn't nurtured well at all when I was young. Blessings to you! Have a peaceful day.
