I'm so sorry this is happening. The word "cancer" scares the daylights out of everyone.

When I was told I had breast cancer, I too got scared. But alot depends on what "stage" you're in. If you're not in the higher stages of it, your chances are very good!!!

I was in a very low stage of cancer, so I had surgery and radiation -- that was amost 5 years ago, and I'm FINE. There are no signs of any cancer now. I was very fortunate that it was caught early!!

And alot depends on WHERE the cancer is. For instance if it's in the pancreas, that's pretty darn hard to treat. But many have had great results and are fine today, after treatment.

She WILL need your support. So just tell her that you will be with her, and that if she needs to talk you'll be there. Tell her she can lean on you any time of the day or night. Just make sure she knows that you're her friend -- and that friends are THERE ALL THE TIME!!!

Best of luck, and she's lucky to have someone like you . Thanks Kala for being such a good friend. God bless and let us know how your friend comes out, ok? Hugs, Lee
