There is a case of a man who was going to die of cancer and he determined to recover by using humor--anything that made him laugh. It worked, and he recovered.

One of the patients I work with died of bone cancer last week. Nope. Don't think the laughing would have done it. Bit extreme, this. I think it can potentially help with low mood.
