I totally agree with this. Or if a therapist has been helpful but can't take you past a certain point or deal with a certain issue you have, realizing that it is a time for a change and doing so is a form of self-care. I failed to leave a therapist who couldn't help me any more than he had, and I regret not leaving at that point. I wish I had listened to and respected myself enough to make that decision. Now I have one who understands me better, and I am getting stronger.
