They say that holding something such as a piece of ice for an extended time can help with these types of emotions. I understand where you are coming from with the depression. Mine has been going on for about a month now, and it seems like whatever coping skills I do, it doesn't help. I am having thoughts, and I just wish I could distract myself away from them. The people I talk to do not understand and don't think there is anything going on with me or they don't care. I listened to some music today and that helped a little.
