Jung! Well in general, one thing about dreams is, although they use symbolism, I like the idea of sticking close to the dream in interpreting it. I ask myself, "What actually happens in the dream?" In this dream someone who is very familiar to her is displaying all these qualities that are threatening and don't seem to fit this person. You do have to make a few leaps into dream logic, such as the idea that "a familiar person" can mean yourself. Is it strange to choose other people to represent parts of ourselves? Not really, because these are usually parts that aren't fully integrated into consciousness, so they are experienced as "other." But ultimately it doesn't require too much BELIEF (i.e. unquestioning belief) into symbolism. You ask, "What happens in the dream?" And then ask, "What is happening in life?" Look for the patterns.
