I was actually caught by surprise, because I had taken a leave of absence from a job I had worked at for years, and then started back at it after about eight months. My boss had indicated several times she wanted me back, and when I decided to go back there, and had gone up there, she told me that I needed to pee in a cup. When I started there the first time, about ten years earlier, I didn't have to, but I certainly didn't want to argue!
I was on Ritalin 20 mg three times daily, but had forgotten my second and third doses that day. I was scared to death it would show up as meth. In retrospect, I should have just told her, and I discovered later that she wasn't actually suspicious of me...the policy had changed, and urine screens were required.
It didn't show up, and I was quite thankful. I mean, the script would have covered me anyhow, but I really didn't want anyone at all to know. I tend to be somewhat paranoid and afraid of something being used against me.
Later on, the hospital got new, supposedly more sophisticated drug screens, which tested for about fifteen different supstances (including PCP....is that REALLY a problem here?!?) and I was on Vyvanse, and decided to drug test myself. While negative for meth, I indeed tested positive for amphetamine, unsurprisingly. But I was also weakly positive for cocaine!!! Wtf?!?! And I hadn't used cocaine....in years.
