I'll take a stab at this one, Mandy. Those standard symbols are interesting, but it's helpful to look at what all this means specifically to you.
You're going to a psychologist for therapy, and instead he's doing your hair. You're expecting a perm, and instead he braids your hair. He starts off with a glass of wine.
QUESTIONS
You mentioned that you're thinking of ending therapy with this guy. Why? Could it be that you're not getting from him what you expected? Are you expecting some real work that will change your life (good therapy), and instead he's just making superficial changes (changing your hair)? Are you expecting some permanent changes (a perm), but instead he's just making some quick superficial moves that don't actually make a lasting change (braiding hair)?
Who else do you know that drinks wine? Do you? In what situations? If you usually associate wine with relaxation, maybe you're thinking that this therapist isn't really into the work anymore. You don't feel like he's working hard with you.
What happens with you when you actually do get your hair fixed? Do you talk with your stylist about your problems? Does he or she offer advice, etc, or just a sympathetic ear? Is that what you think your therapist is doing? Offering no more support than your stylist?
Just some stuff to think about. Good luck.
