You're very lucky. If I drank a beer or two, I'd be off and running just like I was 20 years ago when I was drinking. It would be back to the same old thing. I'd be smashed, drunk, blacked out -- the whole ball of wax. It's just NOT worth taking ONE drink, cause one is NEVER enough.

For a TRUE alcoholic, we cannot afford to "test the waters." We can't have just one. We can't have ANY. And to suggest to someone that just one is okay isn't a good idea. It's dangerous!

True alcoholics can DIE if they "go back out for further investigation." Those of us who have achieved sobriety need to STAY sober, without having a "drink or two" just for the heck of it. That will KILL us. Maybe you weren't a REAL alcoholic. But Please don't suggest that it's okay to drink occasionally for a real alcoholic. It's NOT.
