I completely agree with zombiette.
First evaluate if it would be physically or mentally dangerous to exercise.
If it would not be dangerous than I would say you could still go for walks and simple exercise like that IN MODERATION. Because when I say walk I mean like a 1 or 2 mile slow paced walk; not fast walking, not miles at a time, and not several times a day.
SO if you can exercise like walk, in moderation, without it being dangerous, I don't see anything wrong with it... But that is also my opinion based on just the information you gave us.
