It just seems I have recurring major depression to me, but that was my diagnosis. I have been in a depression since December. It was as if my meds just stopped working. I toughed it out until February when I called my doctor and he put me on abilify in addition to the other 2 meds. When that didn't work he put me on Pristiq. When that didn't work he put me on Adderall. When that didn't work he doubled my lamictal. Now that is not working and I am more than frustrated. I have an appointment this week but I don't know if I can take one more med change. I have gotten more and more depressed over these months of trying all these meds and failing. I know I have to do something and I have to keep trying but nothing is working Also in the past I have been on prozac, zoloft, paxil, wellbutrin, effexor, lexapro, etc. and more. No success. Can anyone offer any suggestions? The only thing I have not tried is a MAOI and I think that is the next thing my doctor will put me on. Sorry for the long post thanks for reading, just frustrated here!
Medications don't always work, and I'm afraid, some of them can be addictive and make your problem worse.. Meds only work if your depressions or bipolar behaviors happen due to hormonal misbalance. But maybe it's just some episodes in your past or present life that are causing that.. Have you tried a counselor who will just help you go through your life situations in confidential conversations and maybe you can find reasons for your depressed moods and fix them that way..
