Luckily, we have an opportunity to post responses so that things can be clarified and taken further. I did post saying that I believed it was taken out of context and provided some clarification.

When my T is adamant about something though, rarely does he waiver from that position. He told me in my last session something along the lines of - that with a waiting list a mile long and no other motivation other than seeing people get healthy, he's comfortable with standing firm on his position.

To me, though, the fallback of "I'm only doing it because I care and want you to be healthy" is yet another way of not taking ownership for when you're totally off the mark.
