Sooo I got divorced several years back; it was my decision to end it. We were able to be quite amicable once he got over being hurt. He is now remarried and has a kid. I am very happy for him and if I were to run into him I would truly be like "Hey how are you??" like an old friend.
He wouldn't let me give the engagement ring back (or the band) although I tried 3 times. (He's very successful in his job, so it's not like he needs it back for monetary reasons.)
The engagement ring I had specially made and designed it myself...I LOVE jewelry. I have thought about selling the set of course, but my father said since I don't NEED the money yet to hold on to it, so it's been kept locked away.
But I have gone and looked at it recently...and I don't see our marriage (which was short) when I look at the ring, I see a beautiful piece of jewelry I designed. I know I don't want the ring taken apart EVER (that horrifies me) and made into a necklace or something.
So, has anyone ever worn their ex-engagement ring on their right hand just as a ring and gotten away with it? Mine is emerald cut with a half moon on each side and tiny diamonds next to each moon and the band is rather elaborate. I already wear a diamond ring on one hand that belonged to my grandmother, so between my two hands they don't look too odd...but...anyone?
