Yes! I'm currently on a family vacation I almost backed out of. I'm in a situation where the meds I'm on aren't working and I can't talk to pdoc till I get back. Plus this is the first time I'm around a fair amount drinking since getting sober. After quite the rollercoaster I considered not coming. Thank my lucky stars, I've felt pretty normal all week, and so far it has been an amazing experience. It's for my grandparents 60th anniversary and they are wonderful people who I am lucky to have as a part of my life (including letting me stay at their house during rehab). I'm happy I came, but I knew all the bad things that could have happened (and still could).

Hopefully your friend realizes a little later visit with everyone in the proper mindset will be better for all parties. Good luck!
