Take a big breath. Depression and anxiety are very real. You have to remember that anyone can put whatever they want on the internet. No one screens it for accuracy or puts a warning on it. You could put up a website that said chickens could talk spanish. Would that make it true?

The internet has given us alot of good things. We have access to information, fast communication with people we love, and can check to see where to shop for A,B or C.

Unfortunately, it has also given us some bad things. If what you are reading feels wrong, looks wrong or is not backed by anything, you might want to check other sources. If depression and anxiety were not real, then why do people in double blind studies respond to anti-depressants while the ones how took sugar pills did not? They didn't know what they were taken.

Look at ERs. There are people coming in with anxiety attacks so bad that they pass out from hyperventilation. Others are attempted suicides. I doubt they did that because they were happy.

Listen to your therapist. Be careful of what you believe and don't believe on the web. In this case, your therapist knows more about the subject that Joe Blow.
