Welcome to the forum, prettybear. This pdoc (psychiatrist) you saw sounds terrible. First, two months sounds really long for a follow-up on a drug that he doesn't recommend. Second, it sounds really unprofessional and disrespectful for him to say other T's (therapists) would just laugh at you or your diagnosis. What an ***. Does your GP know any T's who are psychologists? I would recommend strongly that you hunt for one now.
