For me, it's tough to think in absolutes. Yet, it's doing the right thing, when you've considered all the variables, weighed the pros and cons. Perhaps even putting together a list, in order to 'weight it'.

Keeping the lines of communication with your child(ren) open, is what helps everyone involved. Being honest with them, is a positive thing.
