I've been a 20 a day smoker for just over a decade, until the start of this year. I've now gone six months without smoking a cigarette.
Though I haven't gone the full hog of quitting in the true sense, as I tried that several times and always relapsed into smoking, I now use a vaporiser (e-cig). There are several options available and I've tried a few before settling on the Innokin iTaste VV, it's a great bundle for a great price.
I know some people see this as cheating, but frankly I don't care. It has allowed me to keep the habit (which helps lower my stress levels from change to routines) and gives the sensation of smoking and gives me the nicotine at a controlled level, but cuts down the price by a hell of a lot and stops me inhaling deadly chemicals. My 'smokers cough' has completely gone, I can breath much easier and my sense of smell and taste have returned to normal.
For those who want to kick cigs, but are apprehensive about losing the habit or nicotine intake I'd highly recommend them, several of my family and friends have already made the switch since I let them try mine. You can also buy the liquids in varying Nicotine strengths, which allows you to slowly lower your nicotine intake so when you do decide to quit fully it's much easier on your body.
