I posted in a different area but I wanted to know how u guys felt. My daughter said she doesn't want to be like me and be home all the time she wants a career, I have a bachelors. I raised my kids when they where young. I tried to explain to her what was going on, but she really didn't want to know, it felt like she was ashamed of me. This is isn't where I wanted to be at 41, I had big dreams in my career that I got my degree in, now I have to live with my mom to support my kids. My dreams r gone
It's hard, I really understood, but remember that your illness and your disability and career or lack of one --don't totally define you. I find it helpful to focus on other things and to try to stay positive, while being realistic enuff to deal with things and people's attitudes, as I'm able. It's worth the struggle when it works. I also think that it's a blessing to have it than to not have it, along with no work or career. I believe it's a matter of making meaning of one's life, just where one is at that given time, and to keep moving forward. Of course, easier said than done! The best!
