I just checked one of my albums. It has Upload Pictures links at the top left and the bottom left.

When I was uploading pictures earlier today, the system kept telling me how many more I could upload to that album. I wouldn't be surprised if the Upload Pictures links disappeared as soon as the album was full.

Have you considered starting another album and seeing if that one works any differently?
