There's a treatment calculator on the website, where you pick the mental ailment, and what you need for it. So I was curious and picked depression and psychologist. It calculated that I would need 7-9 visits with a therapist....wtf? Am I supposed to be cured in 7-9 visits? It takes 7 visits just to lay out all my problems and get to know the t.

I am so glad they don't judge based on this calculator thing for my problems. Bipolar wasn't even one of the choices. Luckily my state passed a law where insurance companies can't limit the amount of visits for certain mental illnesses, like Bipolar.

What really concerns me is that people might use this tool and get there hopes up that they will be cured in that amount of time.

I hate insurance companies 99% of the time.
I hear you.

I'm covered by the same group. They may have tried to call me but they don't understand the concept of TTY's and deafness. At any rate they do not have one Pdoc in the area where I live, outpatient is limited to 10 days and they always tell me cheerfully I'm fully covered w/ no limits for hospitalization! As if!
