I've been asking myself why people are so mean for years now. I don't really have an answer. All I can come up with is that, this world is crazy and confusing. Everybody is just reacting to the world they live in and if people react with anger and hate, others will too. Someone decides to be an A-hole to people because he's angry at life, that person will become angry about that A-hole, and may talk back in the same manner. Then we get an argument, in which somebody else joins, and before you know it, all hell has broke loose. Everyone is angry and confused about life. It ends up that they all take it out on eachother. After a while, this becomes the norm. It's expected. It's a cruel world.

I imagine that the people on the Internet who say nasty things also say nasty things in real life. I don't believe that good, kind people come online and suddenly switch. Maybe some do. But if I see a couple of people on YouTube arguing about which Spiderman movie is better and calling eachother names, I think it's pointless and pathetic, and I also think "urgh, the high school kids have come home from a hard day of chemistry and are now proving their tastes are valid and superior with other high school kids." It looks like school to me. They probably spend a lot of their time arguing about films in real life and YouTube is another place to do that. Obviously they're not all high school students. Some are probably in their twenties, thirties, forties... then I just think, well, nobody ever grows up.

IMDb is another site where people have the most inane arguments about nothing. It's the same as YouTube, some place people with differing tastes can come together and have a "discussion" AKA moanfest. People think their opinions are "right" and other peoples' are "wrong" and their passion for the subject causes them to be aggressive. "No, no, you're an idiot if you think that's good! THIS is good!!" Blah blah.

Those are just movie examples, but it applies to pretty much everything. Everyone is angry, confused, and desperate to validate their identity with their tastes and interests. Differing opinions are threatening to their beliefs, to their identity. It angers them more. Words are used. It goes on.

I have social phobia so people are my problem... I watch them and try to understand them. This post might be veering way off, I apologise if it is! This is a subject that interests me.

I don't post on sites with mean, pointless comments, but I do want to make a YouTube channel. I may have to learn how to deal with such comments if I do.
