I knew right away when I was pregnant one because my child was planned and two because I get a slight pain on the side that I ovulate each month and three because I missed a period.
BUT I do know people who have never missed a period, never experienced morning sickness and never gained any significant weight. their period was just slightly less heavy and they were very surprised when suddenly their water broke and they delivered a baby by ambulance or in a car or went to the hospital for the stomach flu and delivered a baby.
There are many cases documented in the news about how people have been surpised by delivering a baby in a restroom and so on and didn't know they were pregnant. in on case that I know of the teen age girl put the new born baby in the garbage after being surprised with labor and delivery.
I didn't gain any weight until I was 8 months pregnant and then ballooned up 40 pounds in one month. in fact my ob/gyn had me on all kinds of things trying to keep weight on because I was actually losing weight when I was pregnant because my child was taking everything just as fast as it was put in me.
If I hadn't planned my child my having morning sickness would not have been a clue because I natually go through cycles where I can't keep food down or in depending on stress and so on
Also the over the counter pregnancy tests told me I wasn't pregnant, urine tests said I wasn't one time I was the next and I wasn't the next. For me I had to have a blood test taken for comfirmation
Every ones body physique and chemicals changes in different ways when they are pregnant. If you think you are pregnant the best thing you can do is go to a ob - gyn and have an exam and testing done. For those that don't have money for ob/gyn's planned parenthood is free.
At the visit to the ob/gyn and or planned parenthood the client recieves information about what they can expect based on their own bodys reactions and also what is expected in general for a normal pregancy.
