For the record, and I understand if you don't know this, but steroids (I suspect you were given a taper of prednisone) is the most powerful anti-inflammatory there is, and it is not something prescribed casually. Prescribing that and Lortab is about as strong as you're going to get in the ER. I'm sorry you're in so much pain, though after a couple of days of the steroids hopefully you'll start feeling better. From my experience (as both a patient and a healthcare professional) it's extremely unlikely that having a mental health diagnosis is going to affect the treatment you needed.
