I suspect I might have DID. Can someone explain me more about DID? I don't know many things.
Are there different kinds of DID? Or is it only DID when there is a very big memory loss, like you cannot remember anything you did in no way for a period of time, and there is the need to have an story of abuse? I've had a hard life, I'd say, in some points, but I consider myself lucky. I've only been bullied at school, from ages 11 to 18 more or less, and not in the same degree, the bigger bullying years were age 11 to age 16, more or less, the last 2 years I wasn't too loved in high school but I wasn't attacked on a daily basis and I even had friends, or at least, acquaintances. That's the only source of trauma that i can have coming to my mind. Also, I thought, my family and I had difficult times and I suffered. But hey, my parents are the best people in the universo, this I know, and of course they haven't raped me or abused in no horrible way. Nothing a parent can't do sometimes. I feel like the main source of my problems, my mental problems, is me, only me, because the people around me, are pretty normal. I felt misunderstood but that's all.
Can someone tell me stories about their DID, and ask me questions to know if this I have is DID? I can't just tell, there are so many things I just can't tell, I never find the time (this happens to me since always)

Im sorry but we dont perform therapy here. it is you that must tell us whether you have DID or not. to find out if you have DID you will need to contact a therapist, psychiatrist in your off line location...

you posted you have seen many psychiatrists as young as age 14...guess what....if you have it you would have been diagnosed with it....or you would have documentation that shows you had some sort of alternate personalities, documentation to all the dissociative problems that come with having DID.

I see by your profile you listed many different mental disorders....are they your diagnosis? all of those mental disorders do look like the same mental disorders. what I mean is delusional disorder, schizophrenia, panic disorder and DID can all appear to have the same symptoms in some people..

so can many other things like a persons age, what their life is like, what their job, stress health issues are....

so many things can make it seem like a person has DID...

but the only way to know for sure is to see a psychiatrist and medical doctor to be tested.

now for your other questions...

is there more than one kind of DID...no there is only one mental disorder in america called DID, other countries may have other standards for mental disorders.

here in america there are many different dissociative disorders but only one DID.

what is DID... the simple version is that its where a person has alternate personalities that they switch into. these alters have their own way of being...their own behaviors, way of thinking, their own reason they are there, their own jobs that they do....theres a lot that goes into having DID..

Im purposely keeping my explaination brief because you have other mental disorder issues that this problem of your could be and I dont want you to jump to the conclusion that you have this based on what I am saying.

only your treatment provider can tell you whether you have this or not..

your treatment provider can show you in their DSM 5 what DID is and tell you whether you have it or not.

do you have to have a history of abuse....here in america it is the belief that DID happens when children under the age of 5 have been extremely abused to the point where their minds dissociate, creating alternate personalities to hold the memories of being abused.

my point is that though many people with DID dont have memories of the abuse, their alters do. (which by the way is another way you can find out if you have been abused...you stated you have seen many psychiatrists as young as when you were 14 yrs old, if you have the problems that comes with having DID like dissociative issues and abuse there will be documentation of this on file with those psychiatrists you have seen in the past..one thing we know about therapy is that it causes a person to feel triggered/uncomfortable and they have to talk about hard things, which makes a person dissociate during therapy.. so your past psychiatrists will have on file whether you have DID or not...and what abuses your alters talked about/tried to hide/ what questions triggered/upset you and many other things that can help you discover whether you have DID or not.)

my suggestion ....contact your treatment providers, let them know you are concerned about maybe having DID and they will help you to find out if you have it or not..
