That was actually the first drug my pdoc started me on, but I didn't get the effects I was looking for, so we tried a few other drugs before deciding xanax worked best for me. We talked about the addictive properties of benzos, but my pdoc felt that I was at a very low risk for developing addiction, and that as long as we both monitor my use and talk about it, we're good.
Considering the great results I've had with a very low dose of a benzo, I'm thrilled that my pdoc isn't one of those that refuses to prescribe the drugs. I know some people have had horrible experiences on them, but I've been on Xanax since November of last year, and have seen no negative effects (no addiction, no building of tolerance, etc).
